Projects

Applied research plays a crucial role for most of the faculty’s professors. This enables innovations to be incorporated into teaching in a timely manner. All research projects are practice-oriented and carried out in collaboration with companies from a wide range of sectors, whilst also having an international focus.

Listed below are some current projects at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering:

  • Additive manufacturing of biocompatible acrylate-based materials
  • Bio-magnesium: mechanical properties and corrosion behaviour
  • Selective laser melting of structural components made from lightweight metallic alloys
  • Biogas Intelligence
  • Emissions-controlled engine management system for biogas-fired combined heat and power plants
  • Substitute fuels
  • Productive 4.0

Further details on ongoing and completed projects can also be found in the Research & Transfer section!

Institutes
