The Extended Senate is, alongside the Senate, a self-governing body at Stralsund University of Applied Sciences.

The Extended Senate deliberates on fundamental matters concerning the university. Among other things, it adopts resolutions on the university’s constitution and electoral regulations on the recommendation of the Senate, and conducts the election of the Rector, the Vice-Rectors and the members of the University Council.

The tasks of the Extended Senate include, in particular:

• adopting the university’s constitution on the recommendation of the Senate
• adopting the university’s electoral regulations on the recommendation of the Senate
• the election of the members of the university management
• the election of the members of the University Council
• removing the university management or members of the university management from office on the recommendation of the Senate
• Adoption of a statement on the draft university development plan
• Adoption of a statement on the draft financial plan
