Project: Future Forum for Climate-Friendly Universities (ZKH)

In this collaborative project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, 15 small and medium-sized universities arebecoming pioneers in climate protection. The project is led by netzwerk n e.V., in cooperation with the University of Vechta and the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE), and follows a Whole Institution Approach.

In the short term, participating universities aim to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by at least 10%, while developing and implementing long-term climate protection strategies. A central element of the project is the involvement of all university groups, with students playing a key role. The focus is on empowering students to lead the way in initiating sustainable transformation processes from within.

Throughout the project, which runs until July 2026, universities receive support and guidance from external expert teams to help ensure its success.
