Smart Production

As an engineer, optimizing and automatizing machines and technical systems or manufacturing products in a resource-saving way: With a Bachelor of Engineering in Smart Production at Stralsund University of Applied Sciences, you can work in various professional fields.

The degree program is divided into two blocks: You will learn the basics of a mechanical engineering degree and gain skills in production management processes. The schedule includes subjects such as production planning and control systems (PPS), material flow planning and control, and value stream design. From about the middle of the course, the proportion of elective modules increases, allowing you to tailor your studies to your own ideas and inclinations. Factory planning and simulation or machine tools are two modules in the sixth semester in which you can apply your previously learned knowledge, for example.

Laboratory experiments and excursions to companies in the region round off the course.

As a graduate, exciting challenges await you in the professional world in production, purchasing and quality management. You will be responsible for efficient production processes, regulate the procurement of systems for a company or be responsible for product and service quality, thus increasing customer satisfaction. The starting salary for young professionals is between 3,500 euros and 4,000 euros gross, depending on the industry.
