Make use of the counselling services at the university and contact the General Student Advisory Service first.
You can apply for a change of degree programme using a form. Please note the enrolment and application deadlines. Even if you have applied for a change of degree programme, you must re-register within the deadline for the next semester.
On application, examination achievements from your previous degree programme can be credited to your new degree programme. This could be advantageous for you if, for example, you would like to be placed in a higher semester. Use the appropriate form to apply.
BAföG recipients should definitely seek advice from the BAföG office of the Studierendenwerk if they are changing their degree programme.
Are you already studying at HOST and would like to enrol on another degree programme?
This is possible if you fulfil the requirements for the second degree programme.
If the additional degree programme is subject to admission restrictions, you can only be enrolled on this programme if there are places available.
To apply for a double degree programme, submit the signed application for admission/enrolment from the online application (with a short cover letter stating that you are applying for a double degree programme, without further documents) to the Department of Student and Examination Affairs during the application period for the relevant semester.
If you would like to continue your studies at another university, you should plan this step in good time and seek advice from the student counselling centre there if necessary.
As a rule, an application should be sent to the admissions office of the new university. You should find out about the deadlines in good time.
You can only enrol at the new university after you have de-registered from HOST. To do this, you must submit the completed and signed de-registration application to your study office.
